Design of Communications Hub Enhances Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency and Requires Little Maintenance

ATLANTA - January 23, 2012 - Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm for the built environment, is pleased to announce the Cobb County Transportation Management Center (TMC) in Marietta, Georgia, has earned LEED Silver Certification from the US Green Building Council. Designed by GS&P, the 25,000-square-foot facility addition houses the operations responsible for managing Cobb County's Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS). From the onset of the project, the design team worked to fulfill the client's goals of a facility that enhances energy efficiency, water efficiency and requires little to no maintenance.

GS&P's Craig Parker Authors WaterWorld Feature on KUB
Nashville, Tenn. - Dec 08, 2011

GS&P's Craig Parker, with Dwayne Frye from the Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB), authored a feature in the December issue of WaterWorld magazine. The article, titled "CM-at-Risk Approach Accelerates Storage Facility Construction," discusses the CM-at-risk project delivery method and KUB's motivation for utilizing that approach for its new wastewater storage facilities. TN Public Works Features Nashville's K.R. Harrington Water Treatment Plant
Nashville, Tenn. - Nov 30, 2011

A feature by GS&P's Ken Baker and Dale Mosley was published in the November/December issue of Tennessee Public Works magazine. Their article, titled "Metro’s Harrington WTP Back on Line in 30 Days," tells the compelling story of Nashville's K.R. Harrington Water Treatment Plant, the city's primary water treatment facility, and the damage it sustained during the historic May 2010 flood. Baker and Mosley discuss the role GS&P played in restoring the plant in just one month, the lessons learned during the crisis and the importance of developing in-depth disaster recovery plans. Project Honored with Citation of Merit Award at 2011 Healthcare Design Conference

Nashville, Tenn. - November 29, 2011 - Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm to the built environment, is pleased to announce its design of Seoul National University Hospital Medical Mall was recognized with a Citation of Merit award from Healthcare Design magazine. Located in Seoul, Korea, the conceptual design encompasses 56,000 square meters and includes three floors of out-patient clinics, retail and support spaces as well as three floors of parking garage space. Referenced by jurors as "architecturally stunning" and "…an elegant and functional solution," the design team was recognized during this year’s Healthcare Design Conference held in Nashville November 12-17.

Airport Improvement Features GS&P-Designed MYR General Aviation Terminal
Richmond, Va. - Nov 15, 2011

GS&P's design of an 11,000-square-foot general aviation terminal at Myrtle Beach International Airport is featured in the November/December issue of Airport Improvement magazine. The article, "Myrtle Beach International Invests In General Aviation Segment," includes an interview with GS&P's Wilson Rayfield, Jr., partner and principal architect, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, who discusses the terminal's image, improved functionality and impressive amenities. The terminal was recognized in April by the Southeast chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives as the winner of its "Commercial Airport Project of the Year" award in the 2011 Corporate Award of Excellence program's architectural category.
