GS&P was chosen to lead a team to provide design services for architectural, graphics, civil, structural and electrical systems, as well as construction administration for a 102,000-square-foot addition and renovation to Terminal B. The project provided eight additional gates for American Airlines and one for American Eagle. The primary program areas in the scope of work included the ticket and baggage claim lobbies, the airline ticketing offices, the security checkpoint, passenger holdrooms, public toilets, concession space for food and beverage and gift shops, curbside check-in, a ground control tower and all related support spaces. Other key design features included additional vertical transportation systems, airline computer networks and new emergency power distribution. The project was designed to be implemented in multiple phases to allow the terminal to remain in full operation during construction.
