The terminal expansion project included additions to house federally mandated checked baggage screening equipment, an enlarged and improved passenger security screening checkpoint, an additional baggage claim hall with new devices, and a new landside facade (required due to blast resistance deficiencies identified). GS&P was instrumental in improving the checked baggage screening and passenger checkpoint screening at GPT by utilizing the latest technology and security management techniques. The new checked baggage screening component provides 100% screening using five in-line automated EDS machines. In addition to 100% automated screening, the system provides for manual screening for bags that fail initial inspection.
