The TSA offered the airport the opportunity to become a test site for baggage security systems. GS&P studied the security options at Salt Lake City International Airport and adapted the case study to one viable solution for AUS. Following TSA approval, GS&P coordinated the installation of a hybrid baggage screening system. The system utilized a combination of trace detection and scan detection devices. AUS employed the system as a baseline to evaluate the Boeing team's proposed TSA installations.
