Shifting into a new home. GS&P's environmental graphics group played a very visible role in the design of the iconic new headquarters for Nissan North America. Completed in 2008, the 10-story, 406,000-square-foot building is home to more than 1,500 employees, their vehicles and visitors, presenting unique wayfinding challenges and opportunities. GS&P worked with Nissan to create a signage and graphics program that not only enabled the building to function, but also reflected Nissan's image and culture. This can be readily seen in the beacon-like illuminated logos atop the structure, in the evocative site entry signage, and even in the building's wayfinding and identity graphics. As the image consultant for the project, GS&P helped Nissan achieve their goal of infusing the building with Nissan "DNA", incorporating changeable large-format digital graphics throughout. The result is a building environment that reflects Nissan's culture of change and innovation, in which rest and motion find a perfect balance.
