Justice and safety for all. When Nashville's historic courthouse could no longer support the needs of the growing metropolitan area, a new courthouse combining state-of-the-art security with the traditional architectural style that defines Nashville was needed.

The Justice A.A. Birch Building is Nashville's new seven-floor, 235,000-square-foot downtown courthouse. GS&P was hired by the City to design this new building and renovate the existing 34,000-square-foot Ben West Building. GS&P was also responsible for a prisoner-only pedestrian bridge over Second Avenue to connect the Criminal Justice Center and the new Justice A.A. Birch Building.
