Akron, Ohio
One of the most innovative projects the airport has undertaken in recent years was the creation of a state-of-the-art glycol recovery system for capturing and treating aircraft deicer fluid. This sustainable deicing facility features two 750,000-gallon storage tanks and an anaerobic fluidized bed reactor. Integrating economical design with cutting-edge green technologies, this new system prevents glycol pollution in groundwater and nearby streams, both effectively and efficiently. As one of only two such systems in the world, it represents the best of what GS&P can help our airport clients achieve in taking steps to protect the environment.
Additional information on this project can be found at GS&P's Showcase One.
