New York City Grand Central Partnership
New York City, New York
"Just think of us as a really big mall!" says the brochure for the Grand Central and 34th Street Business Improvement Districts, who together make up the Grand Central Partnership and work as a team for area businesses. The Guidance Pathway System created by GS&P for the 100-city-block area of central Manhattan is another such service. The project showcases historic landmarks, such as the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal, by creating a wayfinding system for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Created via a design-build partnership, the system provides more attractive and comprehensive wayfinding and regulatory information, using 25 percent fewer signs.
