DFW is the nation's third busiest airport in terms of operations. That leaves a lot of cars behind. To address the growing need for more parking, GS&P designed an eight-level, 8,000-space parking garage, with two levels below grade and six above. Drivers are able to locate open spaces with the Smart Technology System. Enclosed, conditioned passenger bridges allow pedestrians to cross the terminal roadway to the ticketing hall without disrupting the flow of traffic. In conjunction with the access roadway consultant, the design team resolved egress/ingress issues for vehicles, as well as pedestrian flows, throughout the garage facilities by utilizing simulation modeling.
